IT’S BETTER IN THE BAHAMAS..
2008-04-24
Spring has finally arrived here in NYC!!
It was too nice out, I had to leave my smokey, dusty room and make my rounds to the
thrift shops out in Queens. Some dopeness I scored..

a nice version of “One Monkey Don’t Stop No Show” (a Red Alert classic!!) + random
breaks 45s, all for the nice price of $1.75!! But the highlight of the day was..

A 12″ of “Funky Nassau” by Ray Munnings, one half of the Munnings Bros. who was the
core of the group Beginning of the End. I hadn’t dropped the needle on this gem for a
few years, so I check it out and it’s ridiculously amazing!! Even the B-side is a bonafide
killer. And to top it all off, it’s autographed by Mr. Munnings himself with the message
that reads “It’s Better In the Bahamas”.
Also found a used SP-1200 at JUNK in Williamsburg

but the price was not a “junk” price.. Speaking of SP, Pete Rock’s new album was a
disappointment and far from its title, “NY’s Finest”..

The BX team is back in the motherland for our Summer 2008 exhibit.
In addition, Zunbug is shooting a music video for a Japanese explosive
Jazz band, Soil & “Pimp” Sessions. They are internationally known
since DJ Giles Peterson introduced the group on his radio program
“WorldWide”.

On the way to the video shoot, GGK got busy on the wheels of steel.
